Is it a break? Or is it a blip?
‘You’ve just had a holiday,’ I pointed out, trying not to yawn. ‘Wasn’t that enough of a break?’
‘I don’t mean that kind of break.’
There’s nothing worse than the last day of holiday. Oh wait, there is. When what should have been a proposal turns into a break, Liv and Adam find themselves on opposite sides of the life they had mapped out.
Friends and family all think they’re crazy; Liv throws herself into work – animals are so much simpler than humans – and Adam tries to get himself out of the hole he’s dug.But as the short break becomes a chasm, can they find a way back to each other? Most importantly, do they want to?
Well, there is another corker of a book! For me, Lindsey Kelk is the cool author on the blog. I absolutely adore all her books because Lindsey without fail delivers stories that are so easily relatable, refreshing and downright hilarious. I always feel like I am truly part of the fiction gang and can't help but feel like I know all the answers to their happy every after.
And that how it should be when we read books. The books that deliver us safely into the world of lovable character that keeps us entertain from the first page until we know "The End".
We Were on a Break is one of those books that completely suck you in and won't let you out until everything is sorted out.
I adored the main characters of this story Olivia and Adam. Their happy ever after should have been sorted on their holiday in Mexico but somehow they ended up taking a break from their beautiful relationship and the consequence of their break up follows them on a journey to discovering what or who makes them happy.
This book describes both Olivia and Adam's way of looking at their relationship and evaluating their life with or without each other in it.
Aside from those two main characters I loved Olivia and Adams tight-knit circle of friends and family with their quirks and delightful characteristics.
Both Olivia and Adam take a similar approach to their break. They both dip in crazy and sometimes embarrassing situations, they are showered by advice from their parents, and they eagerly listen to the gossip swirling among their group of friends.
We Were on a Break is phenomenally fabulous and very addictive read! Loved it!
Happy Reading! xo
