For fans of romantic comedies like Bridesmaids and Four Weddings & a Funeral, and bestselling authors Mhairi McFarlane and David Nicholls, this is a hilarious new romantic comedy series about one bride and her four best friends.
Nora Dervan is ready for her Happy Ever After. With her darling Harry waiting at the altar, and all her family and friends around her. She is certain that her special day will not be forgotten/will be one to remember…
But with her four bridesmaids hiding more secrets, than bottles of champagne. Will her big day be remembered for all the right reasons?
Bea has barely gotten past the fact that her two best friends are dating, and now they’re engaged, whilst cupid’s arrow points in a forbidden direction for Cleo. She is so distracted by her off limits, hot new colleague that she has forgotten Daisy, who has been left dreading the singles table. There’s more romance in the cheesy pick- up lines than Sarah’s own marriage, which hasn’t turned out as she hoped it would be.
My honest thoughts on this book:
First of all, HAPPY PUBLICATION DAY, ERIN!
So it seems like everything is hotting up inside the tightly-knit group of friends in the second instalment of Erin Lawless wedding-themed series!
I am getting more and more exciting to see what will follow and how things will eventually work out between the Nora and her bridesmaids and of course the men!
In this second instalment, we follow the girls on a trip (into the deep English countryside) to find THE ONE wedding dress for Nora upcoming nuptial. There is a bit of drama involving a slightly snobby owner of a wedding boutique and not so right wedding gowns but after lots of champagne on hand, the girls are nearly ready to face the next stage in the hunt for the perfect wedding dress.
Also, we get a little peak into Nora, Cleo and Bea's friendship that had its ups and downs and centre around the different roles Cleo and Bea have within Nora's life.
And then there is the shocking discovery that might just shake the core foundation of this tightly integrated group.
I can honestly say that I adore every character in this book. They all very different but complementing each other wonderfully, they are there to provide support, a shoulder to cry on and someone to hand out in times of need, but they also have their individual flaws and problems that will probably need a lot of work until they are solved. Just like in a real world and that is way Erin Lawless books resonate so well with today's readers.
Erin Lawless is one of my favourite authors; she has a fantastic voice and fresh way with words. With one swift swipe of a finger, I am transported into the life of everyday people where I can watch their intricate storyline flowing fast and oozing with vibrancy and glamorous.
I highly recommend you to read and follow this fabulous wedding-themed series!
