Two women, two very different lives – one perfect solution to escape festive heartbreak!Tucked away in the idyllic English countryside, Daisy Fischer’s cosy little cottage has always been her safe haven. But when her completely dependable boyfriend issues her an ultimatum, Daisy realises there’s a whole world out there she’s missing out on.Florence Cortes’s life couldn’t be better – gorgeous apartment right on the beach, fabulous job and dreamy boyfriend, or so she thought. Suddenly, Flo’s life isn’t so perfect after all.
When the girls house swap for the holidays, it’s not long before Daisy is being distracted by sun, sea and sexy Javier while Flo finds herself snowbound for Christmas with only handsome neighbour Hugo and a house full of animals to keep her company.
Love actually does seem to be all around this Christmas, but in the places Flo and Daisy least expect to find it…
My honest thoughts on this book:
No wonder there are so many wonderful reviews written about this book because The Holiday Swap is absolutely fabulous! You can find hot sizzling romance, beautiful friendships, heroines taking chances and courageously starting new and exciting chapters in their life.
Daisy Fisher wants more excitement in her life, and she is not so sure if her boyfriend's proposal is the right thing for her right now so she decides to swap her idyllic life in an English countryside for a vibrant and colourful Spanish city of Barcelona. At first, Daisy is a tiny bit overwhelmed by the noisy and fast moving city, but soon we can see her slowly coming out of her shell and trying out new things and also dipping her toe in a new romance with the dish tour guide Javier. Why not, I think Daisy deserve a bit of excitement in her life.
While Flo can't wait to be proposed to by her longtime boyfriend but after a rather shocking discovery on their anniversary weekend away Flo is very keen to get away and discover her new self. Flo traces her steps back to her childhood home where she finds a lot of comfort in writing her book, sparring with a hot farmer and looking after the animals.
As the storyline takes up speed both Daisy and Flo, start to relax and enjoy their surroundings and new routines. Zara's vivid descriptions of both Tippermere and Barcelona made me feel like part of the story. I saw myself quietly nudging the girls in the right direction ( to the attractive men welcoming arms) and cheering them on on their new adventures.
I enjoyed this festive read very much and bonded straight away with the highly likeable characters that whisked me away on a fabulous journey to highly desirable places.
If you are looking for a read with fabulous characters, vibrant destinations and storyline that is oozing with charm and warmth, then The Holiday Swap is your perfect company.
