A Parcel for Anna Browne by Miranda Dickinson
Anna Browne is an ordinary woman living an ordinary life. Her day job as a receptionist in bustling London isn't exactly her dream, yet she has everything she wants. But someone thinks Anna Browne deserves more . . .
When a parcel addressed to Anna Browne arrives, she has no idea who has sent it. Inside she finds a beautiful gift - one that is designed to be seen. And so begins a series of incredible deliveries, each one bringing Anna further out of the shadows and encouraging her to become the woman she was destined to be. As Anna grows in confidence, others begin to notice her - and her life starts to change.
But who is sending the mysterious gifts, and why?
My honest thoughts on this book...
Who wouldn't like to receive mysterious parcels, exquisite, mysterious parcels aimed precisely at one person and planted for one particular intent? A definite contender for 5 of my sparkly words - witty, touching, engaging, well planned and very surprising book!
Anna Browne is a quite, lovely and unassuming girl who is happy with her life but one day her life takes an unexpected turn after receiving a few surprising parcels Anna starts to blossom and become more confident around her friends, colleagues and people start to notice her more. But like with every chance something has got to give. Anna's life is in a spotlight, and she doesn't know what to think of it. There is a gain with every lost, but it is worth with in the end?
I loved this new book by Miranda Dickinson! It does feel a tiny bit different from her previous ones, and it is quite a read- over 500 pages, but it is full of delightfulness, turns and twists, suspicions and all that is laced with a mysterious parcel sender!
I adored Anna from the first page. And I cheered her on as she became a more of a person she always wanted to be, the quiet receptionist outlook on life has changed after she was singled out to received a few well-thought parcels and after a couple of personal battles, Anna was free to make the choices she wanted to pursue.
The story is also sprinkled with a huge number of supporting characters that I got very fond of, especially Ted Blaskiewitz, Shanice and Rea ( nice reference to one of my fav bloggers out there)! There is also a couple of love interests for Anna to choose from and I must say I had my suspicions surrounding both Ben and Jonah and the way they both wanted to win Anna's heart.
Only a few chapters left I finally figured out who that mysterious benefactor of the parcel was, and I was genuinely surprised how well written and planned this book was but it is our Miranda Dickinson and I always know, that when I pick out of her books, I am in for a treat! Miranda is one a kind, author that brings a huge smile to my face, her books are full of memorable characters living within engaging and touching stories.
