By My Baby by A.L. Michael
Today it's my turn to tell you a bit about this fabulous book...
Blurb: Two’s company…
If you asked Mollie whether she struggled as a single mum, she’d have to cover her daughter’s ears before answering. Surrounded by friends, watching Esme grow into the sassiest eleven-year-old in North London, and building her name as TV chef Mollie Makes, Mollie’s never been happier. Well, that’s what she’d tell you. But as her best friends pair off, and Esme starts getting into trouble at school, Mollie wonders whether life would be different – not better…but easier – with a team mate.
Three’s a crowd?
But Esme’s dad, Jamie, would be the last man Mollie would team up with. After all, he made it clear eleven years ago that he wasn’t interested in playing the family game. So when he suddenly reappears, Mollie can’t believe her eyes. And soon, she’s got to ask herself the hardest question yet: she knows she can succeed as a single mum. But what if her daughter doesn’t want her to?
My honest thoughts on this book...
First of all, let me say how vibrant and striking is the cover of Be My Baby that is one of the reasons I jumped at the chance to review this book and of course the story inside is equally brilliant.
My only regret is that I haven't had the opportunity to read the previous two book in The House on Camden Square! But do despair if you are like me you will still enjoy this instalment, and then you can always grab the first two books to get the full enjoyment out of this series.
Be My Baby is one of that book that makes you captivated with well-developed characters that are brimming with charm, wit and fabulousness from the get go. I adored Mollie and Esme, the mother and daughter. They had a beautiful relationship, and as a reader, I could clearly see how much they respected each other. Mollie is one heck of a sassy entrepreneur, and she knows what she wants from her life until a face from her past emerges and makes her wonder what her life would have been if things turned out differently.
And Esme is without a doubt one of my favourite characters of all times!
A.L. Michael is a creative and very talented author and Be My Baby books are full of love, warmth and forgiveness. Book that give you happy feelings and makes you realise the importance of a family unit.
