Hello from my holiday- part 2! So we've finally made it to the UK...after 24 hour flight with two excited children we landed at Heathrow airport, hired a car and drove down to the west country. Dorset is beautiful, and the weather has been very kind to us so far. Our holiday let is charming and cosy, and we are enjoying and exploring this wonderful part of England, our new home now. I even found time to read and write a few reviews of my recently read books.
And to my utter delight, I even managed to purchase the books I so eagerly wanted to sample.
So here is my opinion on the books I read so far...
Every cloud has a silver lining when it comes to love…
Cloudy with a Chance of Love is the first book I have sampled by Fiona Collins. And I can say it won't be the last.
The story of Daryl Williams had me in stitches from the beginning. I love to read a book about a heroine with a witty sense of humour and a pinch of hope for romance.
Although Daryl struggles with the "horrors" of today's dating scene, she has her cheering daughter, crazy mother and a best friend( who is still search for the one) all supporting her quest for a new love ( even the the love prediction is on Daryl's side for this week).
This book is fantastic summer read that warms your heart and makes you root for the heroine. The storyline is quick paced and well developed, and the characters are easily relatable. And the book cover is just gorgeous!

For everyone dreaming of escaping to the country, fall in love this summer at Skylark Farm...
Well, this is the book right up my alley! I love to read a book about a breathtaking countryside landscape, chocolate box farm cottages and a good romance thrown in the mix and the heat of summer! It is pure escapism, and Heidi Swain painted the picture in such a vibrant and believable way that I found myself so invested in Amber and Jake's story that it was quite hard for me to turn the last page and say goodbye to the charming characters of this story.
Without any doubt, it must have been quite daunting for Amber to leave her high pressure job in the city and move to the rural village. Where the only person she knows is her boyfriend but Amber seemed to adapt to the country life very quickly and with the help of her new friends she even devoted her time to organise the famous fair in the village.
I even got a glimpse of the life of the Cherry Tree Cafe heroines from Heidi's previous book.
Heidi Swain created a fabulous book with well-rounded characters and utterly captivating location. A real gem of a story.

When life gives you lemons, make lemon-drizzle cupcakes…
I always enjoy reading Daisy James romantic comedies where the heroines grow and develop with the storyline. The previous two books were an utter delight to delved into, and her third book is no exception to the rule.
When Only Cupcakes Will Do is sure to be a delightful read with so much baking to go around!
There is a fiery chef who can without no doubt bake up a story in the kitchen ( who wouldn't like a diamond encrusted cupcake?!) or you can salivate over a hunky food critic with an adventure's streak! Personally, I adored reading the part when Lucie returns to her hometown after losing her job in the city. Our heroine certainly doesn't waste her time and get down to research and plan the most fabulous cupcake party on this planet.
Daisy's third book is simply a delectable read with a fast-paced plot and charming characters. My favourite of hers so far!

The perfect summer-y romance for a sunny afternoon and a picnic in the park.
The Sunflower Cottage Breakfast Club is the second book in Luna Bay series, and yet again I am absolutely in awe by Lynsey's captivating and mature writing style. Lynsey is quickly becoming one of my favourite writers.
In this second instalment in Luna Bay series, we meet Emily. Emily is a tough high flier sort of girl, but some unexpected surprises (or should I say shocks) see her running to Luna Bay in a search for her real father. And if Emily can convince the owner of a charming B&B to sign over to her bosses company she is in for a work promotion too!
Another summer book that had me longing for days spent in a gorgeous countryside location, just reading and taking long walks with my family and exploring the possibilities!
Fabulous read with plenty to keep us readers thoroughly entertain. This story has a bucketful of well-rounded characters, a healthy dose of romance on the horizon for the leading lady and lots of sparkling scenes, plus the return of some of the characters from the previous book.
If you fancy dipping your eyes into this book, I would strongly recommend reading the first book in the Luna Bay series, The Broken Hearts Book Club.
